Solvang and partners have today declared the two optional ships and signed the shipbuilding contract for the two additional 21.000 cbm ethylene carriers, increasing the order to a total of four 21.000 cbm ethylene carriers.

Solvangs head office has moved to new offices at Strandkaien 36 in the center of Stavanger. The reception is on the 4th floor.

Solvang’s new-builds (84k cbm) at Hyundai Heavy Industries (delivered 3rd amd 4 th quarter 2013) are two of the most fuel efficient LPG carriers ever built, in addition they are some of the world’s largest ships for transporting liquefied petroleum gas.

Solvang’s operation and commercial team has moved offices across the street from Haakon VII’s gt 1 to Haakon VII’s gt 6. The new offices are located on the 5th floor.

Effective as from 1st of January 2016, Solvang has decided to merge their fully owned subsidiary, International Gas Carriers (IGC), into the existing Solvang organisation. All personnel previously employed by IGC will now be employed by Solvang, and will continue to perform the chartering and operation of the Solvang fleet as before

Solvang has now taken delivery of the vessel “Odin”, a MGC of 38.000cbm built in 2005.

Solvang ASA and partners have signed a contract with Hyundai Heavy Industries in Korea, for the construction of two 78.700 cbm LPG carriers.

Solvang has now taken delivery of the third and last of the three Large Gas Carriers (LGC) being constructed at Hyundai Heavy Industries in South Korea.

Solvang has requested the Evergas Solvang Ethylene (ESE) joint venture to be dissolved. For practical purposes, the partners have now agreed to operate with business as usual up to 31 December 2013 to fulfill all the contractual obligations currently held by ESE joint venture. Both parties are free to compete immediately on any new business with contractual start-up from January 1st 2014.

Solvang has ordered from Hyundai Heavy Industries two LGC vessels (60,000 cbm), with a third optional vessel declarable within 6 months. The two firm vessels will be delivered in March and May 2015, and the optional vessel has delivery in July 2015.
