Delivery of ethylene new-build
We are very pleased to announce the delivery of Clipper Eris on September 18th 2019 from Hyundai Mipo Dockyard.
The Clipper Eris is the last vessel in the series of four 21.000 cbm ethylene vessels. Our new class of ethylene carriers are the first HFO (Heavy Fuel Oil) fueled TIER III compliant ethylene carriers in the world. The vessels are equipped with Hybrid Exhaust Gas Cleaning (EGC) with water cleaning, where the waste from the cleaned exhaust is delivered ashore. In addition to the hybrid exhaust gas cleaning system, the engine is combined with Solvang’s low pressure Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) system. This system has been developed on-board one of our own vessels, reducing the NOx emissions by almost 80 %, making the vessels TIER III compliant.
Remaining new-builds for 2019 is one Panamax VLGC, to be delivered October 2019, completing 5 new-builds in 2019 for the group and giving a total of 27 vessels in the fleet.
