Solvang adds Clipper Explorer to the fleet

The 80,000 cbm Panamax VLGC Clipper Explorer has been delivered to Solvang in South Korea. “With Clipper Explorer, I wish our latest addition welcome to the Solvang fleet and the Solvang family,” Solvang CEO Edvin Endresen states.

January 28, Solvang ASA took delivery of Clipper Explorer. The vessel is a Panamax class VLGC at 80,000 cbm, built in 2019. Clipper Explorer is a sister vessel to Clipper Wilma, already owned by Solvang for several years and proven to be a high quality asset.

"The vessel represents a good addition to our VLGC fleet, and it is very nice to finally grow the fleet again," CEO Edvin Endresen at Solvang remarked in a statement released to the shipowner organization.

Preparing for newbuilds

"Now we can also start looking forward to the delivery of our seven newbuilds, of which the first one is scheduled to arrive already April/May 2026," Mr. Endresen says.

The newbuilds are currently under construction in South Korea. Once delivered, they will boost Solvang's Panamax VLGC capacity and further enhance the group’s environmental performance. All seven vessels are ready for onboard carbon capture technology.
