GRI reporting by Solvang

THE GLOBAL REPORTING INITIATIVE

The third framework for Solvang’s sustainability reporting is the GRI standards, which enable us to define and report on
impacts on the economy, environment and people in a transparent way.
The GRI framework covers governance, strategy, policies and practices, climate change mitigation and adaptation,
emissions, waste and water management, and social responsibility related to health, safety, and non-discrimination.
The 2025 ESG report includes references to GRI topics on all major reporting issues. As part of Solvang’s GRI reporting,
the company has assessed and determined impacts in line with the revised GRI sector standards as from 2023.
The assessment is being conducted on a continuous basis, in dialogue with our stakeholders.
The process of determining material topics is documented in Solvang’s materiality assessment.

Corporate sustainability reporting by Solvang

After the EU backtracked on some extensive disclosure requirements in their climate reporting directives, Solvang Shipping has moved on with our measures. In a climate of shifting international frameworks, Solvang sticks to our path of investments into eco accountability. Our double materiality asssessment of sustainability factors is the current milestone reached.

From concept to reality

Building a shipboard CCS plant has been a long and exciting voyage – from a ”non-possible” starting point to a future-proof running installation.

Fleet down 22 percent on emissions – up 21 percent on capacity

Since 2009, Solvang’s gas carrier tonnage has grown by 15 percent in terms of DWT, and by 21.4 percent in cargo capacity. In the same period, GHG emissions have been reduced by 21.5 percent, all due to exhaust gas recirculation and cleaning, hull, propeller and drivetrain optimization, and continuous operational improvements.

Captain Paiton: A relationship to have and to hold

Solvang’s crew describe their ships and sailing mates in words of affection. Captain Iriz Paiton goes even further.
